Q If I take a connecting flight, do I have to check in my luggage twice?
I've never flown before so I don't know much about flying. If I take a connecting flight, do I have to pick up my luggage and check it in again when I arrive at the connecting airport? Or does it go directly to my final destination? (sorry if this question seems dumb).

Usually you check your luggage to the destination. However if the second flight is domestic you have to clear customs on arrival and recheck your bags.

NOT A DUMB QUESTION. Usually you do not need to claim your luggage and recheck it. You can ask when you check in, to be on the safer side, if you need to do anything at your connection.

If you booked your flights together on the same itinerary, then your bags will be checked onto your final destination. I imagine this is probably the case for you. If you booked 2 completely separate tickets, then you will have to pick up and recheck your bags.
